About Me
Music has always been an enormous part of my life giving me immense enjoyment. I began studying piano at the age of nine and at 14 was fortunate to achieve the highest Grade 4 distinction in Monmouthshire. From the age of sixteen I have given piano instruction to both children and adults.
While completing my Performer’s Letters at University, I was asked to give lessons to other students. It was then that I realised how much I enjoyed teaching the piano and seeing how much my students enjoyed learning.
I have had 3 piano tutors over the years, the last one being a professional pianist for the BBC Welsh Symphony Orchestra.
Piano Tutoring
My Experience
Over the years, I have given solo recitals and played for many theatre shows and I am a trained accompanist. In my spare time, I am Assistant organist in my local church where I play regularly for services, weddings and funerals.
I have been teaching piano for many years and my current pupils range in ages from 6 to 75. I am familiar with the teaching techniques that both children and adults need in order to succeed.
I have 37 years of experience in the classroom and taught Music as part of the National Curriculum in a local primary school.
